The Women’s Study
The Center is currently conducting a study investigating the risk factors, sexual behaviors, knowledge and attitudes of women in the metropolitan St. Louis area who were recently diagnosed with Herpes Simplex Virus. The results of an initial questionnaire and six-month follow up will be used to develop materials for counselors and providers to assess the likelihood of condom use and partner notification in women diagnosed with the Virus. Additionally, study results will be used in targeted campaigns to prevent sexually transmitted disease infections.
