Disaster Preparedness for Nurses and Public Health Professionals
Dr Greg Evans and Terri Rebmann from the Centers for the Study of Bioterrorism and Emerging Infections, in conjunction with faculty from Saint Louis University’s School of Nursing presented two conferences on Disaster Preparedness for Nurses and Public Health Professionals in Wisconsin.  The conferences covered various public health issues related to disasters and the role public health will play in disaster response.  Specifically, discussion focused on Israel’s strategies for disaster preparedness.  Further discussion surrounded the role of the public health professional during the recent SARS outbreak in Canada.  Conference attendees noted presentations expanded their knowledge base on this subject and overall level of preparedness.
