Dr. Evans speaks at Beijing Forum in October, 2006
Institute
Director Greg Evans was a featured speaker at the prestigious
Beijing Forum this past October. The Forum is co-sponsored by
Peking University and the Korea Foundation for Advanced Studies,
and aims to promote the study of the humanities and social sciences
along with academic development and social progress in the Asia-Pacific
region.
Dr. Evans participated
in the “Public Health
Preparedness and Health Security—Facing
the Challenge of Human Health Problems” panel session. His session
was titled “Preparedness Paralysis: Ramifications for Pandemic Planning”.
He was joined on the panel by Frank Song, Senior Scientist at the Virginia Health
Quality Center, and Luis Jorge Perez, Deputy Executive Director for the Asian
Disaster Preparedness Center.
Professor
Stanhope presented the “Tale Of Two Cities” to
a number of diverse lay and professional audiences in Missouri, Colorado,
Washington, DC and Georgia during the fall semester. You can view
