Institute to offer two concentrated one-week
courses on site during Summer, 2007

The Institute for Biosecurity will be offering two of its courses in the MS program in Biosecurity and Disaster Preparedness in an intense, two week on-site format during the Summer 2007 session.

The courses scheduled for the July 30 through August 10th session are "Terrorism in the 21st Century" (week one) and "Bioterrorism and Emerging Infections" (week 2).

Details are still being finalized, but current plans call for the courses to be taught here in St. Louis at the Saint Louis University School of Public Health. The building which houses the SPH also contains the university’s own hotel, and students will be able to stay at the hotel during that time at a greatly reduced rate.

This program is completely optional for our MS degree and certificate students, and it is also available for other interested parties whether they are in our MS degree program or not. This summer institute will offer the opportunity for students to gain 3 or 6 hours of credit in a highly concentrated format. In addition, the on-site format of the courses allows students to interact face-to-face with faculty from the Institute and with their fellow students.
